Pitching Clinic/Exhibition - August 11th Eau Claire, WI
Greetings Fastball Fans,
On Wednesday, August 11th, 2004, Eau Claire, WI (Eau Claire Fastpitch
League/ISC 2005 World Tourney committee) will be hosting an ISC
Pitching Clinic @ 4:30pm, followed by an exhibition doubleheader
pitting the top two teams in the Eau Claire Fastpitch league against
the 2-time defending European Cup Champions, the Ballerup Vandels
from Copenhagen, Denmark. The Vandels will be stopping in Eau
Claire
on their way to the ISC World Tournament in Fargo, ND.
The site of these events will be Gelein/Hobbs Fields in Carson Park,
home of the Eau Claire Classic Fastpitch Tournament(June 25-27, 2004)
and the 2001/2005 ISC World Tournament.
The pitching instructors have been confirmed and will be:
Doug Gillis - ISC lead pitching instructor, current Midland Explorers
and 2004 Team USA pitcher. The Midland Explorers are ranked and
consistently finish in the ISC World top 10 year in and year out.
Doug also owns and operates The Doug Gillis Pitching School and
Softball Academy in Michigan.
Paul Algar - Current Madison Farm Tavern standout. Has helped lead
The Farm to 8 consecutive top 4 finishes in the ISC World's including
two ISC World titles. The Farm could be considered the fastpitch
equivalent to college football's, Florida State University. Paul
is
also a former New Zealand pitcher/resident.
Bill Hillhouse - #2 ISC pitching instructor and 2000 Team USA
pitcher. Has also pitched for Larry Miller Toyota and The Farm
Tavern among others. Bill owns and operates Bill Hillhouse's House
of Pitching based in PA, but also travels all over the world putting
on clinics.
Bob Moore - Eau Claire resident and longtime pitching icon. Bob
has
pitched for many teams over the years, most notably, Eau Claire's
Peter's Meats and She-Nannigans in the 60's/70's as well as the Farm
Tavern in the late 70's, early 80's. This southpaw has amassed
more
than 1400 wins and thrown over 50 no-hitters in his career. Bob
still continues to pitch in the Eau Claire Fastpitch league and some
weekends as well.
This clinic is free of charge and is open to all boys/men of any age
or ability. Whether you've pitched for years or have never picked
up
a ball, you will learn something, guaranteed.
We only ask that all participants pre-register so we know how many to
expect. All participants will receive a new Diamond Flyer softball
and will also be eligible for registration door prizes(bats, gloves,
bags, etc..).
